On Tuesday, the French National Spectrum Administration (ANFR) ordered Apple to suspend the sale of iPhone 12 phones. If Apple does not take action, it may result in the recall of all devices already sold to consumers.

French Digital Minister Jean Noel Barrow stated on the same day that Apple must stop selling the iPhone 12 model in France due to radiation levels exceeding the threshold. Barrow stated that after conducting tests, the French radiation monitoring agency ANFR found that the specific absorption rate (SAR) of Apple smartphones was slightly higher than the legal allowed value, and therefore notified Apple of its decision to ban the sale of iPhone 12.

France's ban on selling iPhone 12 may trigger a chain reaction. The German Office of Radiation Protection (BFX) has stated that they will discuss possible measures in Germany and are currently in close contact with the French authorities.

Bundesnetzagentur, the German Federal Network Agency, has stated that it will review the decisions of French regulatory agencies and may initiate similar litigation proceedings.

The Spanish Consumer and User Rights Organization (OCU) has also urged regulatory agencies to stop selling iPhone 12.

The iPhone 12 is one of the 14th generation iPhone series smartphones launched by Apple in 2020.
