For a long time, corn is an important food crop and feed crop, with the upgrading of consumption and technological progress, the industrial chain of corn deep processing is constantly extending. What is the "transformation journey" of corn?
Hot drinks sell well when the weather gets cold. Corn juice has become a favorite drink for many people. This cup of corn juice, even the cup and straw are "turned" from corn.
The golden corn in the field, after harvesting and threshing, gets on the transport truck and comes to the processing plant, which opens the "transformation journey". The whole vehicle of corn kernels into the special transportation channel, first through the "security check", the purpose is to clean out impurities such as stones, sand and soil, and get net grain.
Next, the kernels are soaked in an "acid bath" in a closed steel tank, and then "tempered" by grinders and centrifuges to produce starches, sugars and amino acids. These major deeply processed products are "graduated early" while ensuring food security and nutritional supply. The other part of the corn raw material that can be reused continues the "transformation journey."
In modern processing chambers, this corn auxiliary is turned into a liquid at high temperatures and injected into molds, including those for making straws and knives and forks.
After cooling, various daily items such as straws, knives and forks, cups and plates that are "turned into" by corn are finally "unveiled". Compared to the beginning, they are now worth more and in high demand. After the waste of these corn products, they can be degraded in the soil, so as to achieve a cycle of "from the ground and back to the ground".
The person in charge of the biotechnology project of CoFCO believes that corn is the most "transformed" and the most complex agricultural product, from primary processing to deep processing to high value-added processing, the higher the added value and the wider the application field. Now, the deep processing of corn has formed a "gold industry chain", and the transformation of high value-added corn can also benefit farmers, thus forming a virtuous cycle.
