Online trading platform eToro plans to officially initiate the account migration for its mobile users on October 4, gradually transitioning existing customers to the revamped mobile trading app launched in July. This upgrade adopts an automatic migration process, ensuring that users' original account information, login credentials, and portfolios are seamlessly preserved without the need for manual position transfers or re-registration.
According to official notifications, the migration will be rolled out in phases rather than replacing the legacy app for all users simultaneously. However, eToro has yet to disclose specific details regarding priority user groups, regional segmentation, or a comprehensive timeline for sunsetting the legacy app. For users eager to experience the new interface early, a standalone early-access app named "eToro AI" is currently available for download on major app stores. The company specifically advises users not to delete the legacy app before the main app is fully upgraded. Once the main app upgrade is complete, the early-access version will be automatically taken offline, and users will subsequently trade directly within the upgraded main app.
The mobile revamp features comprehensive optimizations to both the interface and functionalities. It not only redesigns the portfolio page and enriches asset details but also introduces advanced charting and multiple view modes. eToro states that the restructured app will deliver significantly improved performance speeds. The core highlight of the new app is its built-in AI assistant, Tori, which can not only answer user queries but also proactively push market news related to users' holdings and watchlists. This migration represents a large-scale rollout of the new products released in July, rather than the introduction of entirely new trading accounts or brokerage services. It aims to provide users with AI-assisted investment research and portfolio analysis by integrating trading and investment features.
Previously upgraded in April, the Tori assistant has added long-term conversational memory capabilities and can access market sentiment data from the X platform via Grok, laying the groundwork for this mobile migration. Other products announced during the same period, such as AI smart agents, sub-accounts, and the eToro Edge desktop platform, are not included in this mobile migration plan, and their launch schedules will be announced separately. Due to regional differences in regulations and policies, the specific features available to users may vary by jurisdiction, and eToro has yet to disclose detailed, step-by-step migration timelines for individual countries.
