Unable to withstand the temptation of high returns, a retired Chinese man in his seventies in Malaysia fell into a stock investment fraud trap twice in less than two months, resulting in a cumulative loss of 11000 ringgit (RMB 18056) in savings.
It is reported that the victim fell into the trap of "PVTC MAX" stock investment fraud in December last year, losing 5000 ringgit; Two months later, he fell into the trap of the "FALCONHPE" scam and invested 8000 ringgit. At first, he successfully withdrew 2000 ringgit, but when he wanted to withdraw nearly 30000 ringgit from his account, the other party asked him to pay a handling fee of 5031 ringgit. Fortunately, the victim only invested with a lucky mentality after being deceived for the first time, so they did not transfer money or increase their investment afterwards.
The victim shared their recent experience of being deceived at a press conference. The scammer contacted him through the WhatsApp mobile application and added him to a group called "FALCONHPE" on January 16th of this year. Qunnie, a woman who claims to be a 32 year old single mother, started a private conversation with him, saying that she is a woman from Taiwan's finance department. "Later, she persuaded me to invest in stocks, and the stock prices I invested in were lower than the market, but the profits were high. Therefore, on February 20th, I remitted 5000 ringgit for investment.
On February 22nd, the other party informed him that he had earned 335 ringgit and transferred the money to his bank account. Due to tasting the sweetness, he invested an additional RM3000 on March 1st; Then on March 6th, the other party notified him that they had received a reward of RM1600 and remitted the funds to him.
The other party also listed that I currently have 29597 ringgit in my investment account, and I requested to withdraw this money, but was asked to pay a handling fee of 5031 ringgit
He pointed out that since the method was similar to the first time, it was clear that this was a fraud trap, and he did not continue to remit money to the other party.
