Barclays yesterday announced the appointment of Ryan Voegeli as Head of InvestmentBanking for Canada. Mr. Voegeli will be based in Toronto

Mr. Voegeli has twenty years of investment banking experience, and joins Barclays from CIBCCapital Markets where he was Head of Global Diversified lndustries lnvestment Banking. In thisrole he led a highly successful team spanning Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver,Chicago and San Francisco. Prior to joining CIBC in 2011, Mr. Voegeli was Head of CanadianTelecom, Media & Technology lnvestment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Throughout his career, Mr. Voegeli has performed key roles in a vast number of landmarktransactions, including advising the Special Committee of Shaw Communications in connectionwith its $26bn sale to Rogers Communications, and advising Shaw Communications on its$1.6bn acquisition of Wind Mobile. He advised George Weston Limited in connection with itssale of Weston Foods, and Loblaw in connection with its $845mm acquisition of LifemarkHealth Group, as well as on the $460mm IPO of Choice Properties out of Loblaw. Mr. Voegelialso advised TELUS on its $2.9bn acquisition of Lifeworks, and GFL on its $5.125bnrecapitalization led by BC Partners and OTPP

He also has extensive experience in lnitial Public Offerings, having advised as JointBookrunner on the $1.4bn IPO of TELUS International, Joint Bookrunner on the US$531mmPO of Ceridian, Joint Bookrunner on the $460 million IPO of Aritzia, and Joint Bookrunner onthe $380mm IPO of Hudson's Bay Company.
