The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announced today that it has uncovered fraudulent websites impersonating its website, as well as some bad actors falsely claiming to be CySEC officials.

These fake websites are as follows:

1. cysec-regulatory.com

2. www.cysecsupport.online

3. www.cysec-support.online

4. www.cysecgov.com

5. www.cysecs.group

CySEC explained that as a regulator, it does not have the power or jurisdiction to charge individual investors for any purpose, nor does it have the authority to appoint anyone to do so on its behalf. In addition, the oversight body does not authorize, verify, monitor, or in any way participate in payments between class actions, compensation schemes, natural or legal entities, or any public or private body.

CySEC urges the public to exercise extreme caution in the face of any unsolicited communications claiming to be from CySEC and to avoid giving money to any bad actors claiming to represent CySEC.

Earlier this month, CySEC cracked down on five offending websites that were not part of an entity approved to provide investment services and/or conduct investment activities.
