On May 24, the General Administration of Market Supervision approved the release of the "Restriction of excessive packaging requirements for Food and Cosmetics" (GB23350-2021) amendment No. 1, which made new provisions on the number of mooncake packaging layers, packaging void ratio, packaging cost and mixed packaging requirements.

On June 7, the General Administration of Market Regulation, together with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Commerce issued the Announcement on Curbing "sky-high" mooncakes and promoting the healthy development of the industry (hereinafter referred to as the "Announcement") to resolutely curb "sky-high" mooncakes and promote the healthy development of the industry.

On August 10, the General Administration of Market Supervision issued the Notice of the General Administration of Market Supervision on the rectification of excessive packaging of commodities, sky-high mooncakes and crab cards and crab coupons, and put forward work requirements from the aspects of standard publicity, regulatory law enforcement, exposure cases, consumer advocacy, and cultural guidance.

According to information released by the General Administration of Market Supervision, as of August 31, the national market supervision department dispatched nearly 200,000 law enforcement personnel, inspected more than 170,000 business households, inspected more than 33,000 market entities such as hotels and supermarkets around the price issue, and corrected a number of behaviors of producing and operating excessive packaged goods according to law.

On August 25, the market supervision Bureau of Nanjing Xuanwu District ordered immediate correction in accordance with Article 105 of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste, and gave administrative guidance in accordance with the Announcement, ordering it to correct its sales behavior in violation of the Announcement. On August 18, the market Supervision Bureau of Jinniu District of Chengdu ordered immediate correction in accordance with Article 105 of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste.

Third, the market supervision department of Meishan City, Sichuan Province corrected the behavior of Sichuan Renshou Jiangling Food Co., Ltd. to sell mooncake packaging void ratio in violation of the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of goods
