On May 29, 2023, the Spanish financial regulator CNMV issued a warning against five unauthorized forex traders.

In accordance with Article 17, paragraph 2, of the Law on the Securities Market (reformulated by Royal Decree No. 4/2015 of 23 October), the Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores (National Commission on the Securities Market of Spain) warns that The following companies are not authorized to provide investment services under Article 140 of the Spanish Securities Market Act. These include investment advice or the provision of ancillary services in relation to financial instruments referred to in Article 2 of the Act as detailed in paragraphs (a), (b), (d), (f) and (g) of the Act, including foreign currency transactions for this purpose.
