Fell into the gentle trap, investment pain loss of more than 700,000

In March 2021, Ms. Li from Fancheng District of Xiangyang made a male netizen. The two met through trading idle items and added wechat to facilitate communication. Through the usual chat and friends circle and other information, Ms. Li found that the other party often talked about investment and financial related information, and in a number of trading platforms have accounts and income records, often involving millions of yuan, and has helped many friends through investment crises.

In the face of such a generous and helpful man, Ms. Li gradually warmed up, and the male netizens also launched a strong offensive against Ms. Li: asking questions, and even caring for Ms. Li's children, offered to meet for dinner, and also offered to send Ms. Li brand bags. As the relationship has warmed up, Ms. Li's trust in male netizens has grown.

In mid-April 2021, male netizens recommended an investment and financial platform to Ms. Li, and after Ms. Li registered an account, under the guidance of the other party, she tried to make two top-up investments and obtained a lot of income. Then Ms. Li gradually removed her heart defense and transferred more than 758,000 yuan to the platform in less than a month.

To Ms. Li's delight, the platform account shows that the 758,000 yuan she invested has turned into 3 million yuan. Seeing such a high return, Ms. Li wanted to apply for cash withdrawal. But shortly after the withdrawal request was issued, the website of the investment platform could no longer be opened, and the male netizens also lost contact. Ms. Li rushed to the local police station to report the incident.

The scam is interlinked, and the group behind it is called "Xintai"!

After receiving Ms. Li's report, the Fancheng Branch immediately set up a task force to tackle the problem. The police investigation found that the IP address of the male netizen showed that he was overseas, and some of the money Ms. Li was swindled went to different bank accounts in Fujian, Guangdong, Hunan and other places. The police tracked down, investigated and captured several suspects such as Liu and Dai.

As more and more suspects surfaced and more and more locations were involved, the task force realized that it was likely to be a large fraud group with a huge organizational system. Then, the task force police successively went to Huaibei, Putian, Hangzhou, Xiamen and other five provinces and seven cities, and finally intercepted Dai Mou and Guo Mou who wanted to smuggle to Myanmar, and beat down the "Xintai" fraud gang, captured more than 300 members, and successfully recovered more than 750,000 yuan that Ms. Li was cheated. It also seized 18 mobile phones, two computers and four vehicles involved in the case, freezing more than 3 million yuan of stolen money.

At present, the case is still under further investigation.
