The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has once again issued a warning against crypto investment "killing pigs." Frank Fisher, a public affairs specialist with the FBI's Albuquerque division, has reportedly warned that crypto investment "pig-killing" scams are "growing in the United States."

"Be very careful when someone starts a relationship with you on social media and dating apps and wants you to start investing...... Beware of falling into fraud traps, "says Frank Fisher.

Jeff Rosen, the district attorney of Santa Clara County, California, explained that in the "pig-killing pan," criminals "fallow pigs by making victims think they are investing and moving their funds into crypto wallets." He added that the criminals in the scam "fatten" the victims' digital wallets and then steal the funds.

Rosen's office manages a multi-agency task force on technology-related crime. He noted that according to investigations conducted by the team, these crypto investment scams often operate overseas, such as in Cambodia and China. The district attorney warned that scammers are especially active during the holidays because they often prey on victims who may be feeling alone.

According to Rosen, the pig-killing scheme is so sophisticated that the scammers are "trained as psychologists to try to figure out the best way to manipulate people." "You're dealing with people who use different psychological techniques to make you vulnerable and get you interested in investing," he stresses.

Us authorities warned in August that crypto investment "pig-killing" was rampant. In November, the US Department of Justice seized seven domain names used in the "pig kill pan" scheme.
