Description:

The US CPI data released on Friday may significantly boost the market, but the expected inflation rate has appeared, and the response is understandably lackluster. Push the conversation onto next month's reading. Due to the inflation rate still far above the target level, if the central bank is to start cutting interest rates, it will need to continue to decline rapidly.

In this trading week, the US corporate reporting season continues to come to an end, with an early focus on financial services. Bank of America will go public on Wednesday, while Procter&Gamble will demonstrate support for defensive consumer spending on Thursday.

On Wednesday, we will release the December inflation update for the eurozone, with an expected inflation rate of 9.2%. Due to the slower rate hike by the European Central Bank, it still lags behind the curve in better controlling inflation compared to the United States.

On Friday, UK retail sales data will update general retail transactions during key holiday periods. As UK consumers continue to have to cope with the cost of living crisis, it is expected to decline by about 5.9%, and demand from the retail industry has shifted downwards to the value end of the retail chain.
