Swissquote is not a typical Swiss bank. Our history, ambition and DNA come from a world of creativity, software development and investor empowerment. These values remain at the core of swissquote.

In 1990, Marc B ü RKI and Paolo Buzzi founded Marvel communications SA, a company specializing in financial software and network applications. This business is the predecessor of swissquote, the first financial platform launched in 1996, which provides free prices of all securities traded on the Swiss stock exchange. Today, swissquote.ch has been visited 2million times a month and remains the largest financial portal in Switzerland.

On May 29th, 2000, swissquote (Sqn) was listed on six Swiss exchanges.

In 2010, the acquisition of ACM, one of the country's largest foreign exchange dealers, enabled us to consolidate our leading position as an online transaction and help us rapidly expand our foreign exchange transactions.

In September, 2013, we gained a place in the international market through the acquisition of MIG bank, a major foreign exchange broker. The acquisition made Ruixun one of the world's top 10 online currency trading service providers.

In the same year, swissquote Ltd was established in London, integrating the elements of MIG bank and introducing foreign exchange online services to all markets in the European Union.
