Interactive Brokers Group, LLC was founded by Thomas Peterffy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Over the past 35 years, the firm has grown internally to become one of the leading securities firms with more than $4.8 billion in consolidated equity assets.


IB conducts brokerage/trading and proprietary trading operations in more than 100 market centers around the world. In the broker-dealer business, IB provides electronic (online) trade execution and settlement services for a wide range of electronic trading products for institutional and professional traders. These electronic trading products include global equities, options, futures, forex, bonds, CFDS and funds. In its proprietary trading business, IB engages in market-making activities for electronic trading of approximately 6,500 different products on its own account.
