CySEC licensing regulation
CySEC, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, is the financial regulator that grants operating licenses, inspects the securities of companies listed on the stock exchange, and imposes administrative sanctions on brokerage service companies, investment advisers, and other legal entities. XGOBAL Markets is a licensed CySEC broker with license number. 171/12 and holds a Cyprus Investment Company (CIF) license under the control of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
Jurisdiction of registration
BaFin- BAFIN: The German Financial Supervisory Authority is responsible for regulating the financial markets in Germany. XGLOBAL Markets is registered with BaFIN and offers investment services in Germany under the BaFIN ID 132843.
CONSOB: The Italian financial regulator is responsible for regulating the financial services industry in Italy. XGLOBAL Markets is registered with CONSOB and has "EEA authorisation" status to provide investment services throughout Italy under CONSOB registration number 3712.
In addition to being registered with BaFIN and CONSOB, XGLOBAL Markets is also registered with each EEA regulator and has a registration number with each competent authority within the EEA. MiFID II
As a European investment company, XGLOBAL Markets' legal infrastructure and operational policies comply with the MiFID II Directive. Upon joining the EU, CySEC automatically became a member of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and over the years it has become the financial linchpin of the European Commission's Financial Action Plan. It provides coherent regulation of all financial investment services between the 30 member States of the European Economic Area in accordance with EU law, with the main aim of providing consumer protection.
Separate account
The protection of client funds is of Paramount importance to XGLOBAL Markets, which is why all client funds are kept in segregated accounts within secure banking institutions, thus preventing their use for any other purpose. XGLOBAL Markets operates this separate account as a separate account broker, primarily to protect client investments from situations resulting from any force majeure risks associated with the company's activities. Therefore, rest assured that all client funds are intact.
Investor compensation fund
XGLOBAL Markets is a member of the Investor Compensation Fund. The Fund was established for the establishment and operation of an investor compensation fund for clients in accordance with the Investment Company Act 2002 and the Cyprus Investment Company Regulations 2004 enacted under that Act. All retail customers' funds are insured for a maximum of €20,000 per person in case the company is unable to meet its obligations due to insolvency.
